A Brief History
Reading science fiction and fantasy novels and listening to Music by Yes,
Genesis & King Crimson sparked my early interest in painting. During High
School and College, I studied art, music and photography. My first enjoyment
of abstract expressionism was through Jackson Pollock’s work, sensing the
energy in his drip paintings. From that, I gained an appreciation of
abstracts. This led me to explore the textural works of Clifford Still and
the color studies of Hans Hoffman. I continue to learn by reading, attending
workshops and by experimenting with new techniques and media.
